The Chevy Colorado

The Colorado is a practical mid-size pickup truck that offers impressive towing and hauling capabilities for its size while remaining easy to handle. Chevy offers it with a choice of three engines, starting with a 2.8-liter four-cylinder that generates 369 horsepower. You can opt for a gas V-6 with 308 horsepower and a 2.4-liter diesel that puts out 181 horsepower and gets 369 pound-feet of torque. When equipped, the Colorado can tow up to 7,700 pounds.

There’s room for up to five in the Colorado’s largest cab, and it comes with a 7-inch touch screen, two USB ports, satellite radio, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An 8-inch touch screen is available depending on the trim, and you can also get wireless charging, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and navigation.

The Silverado 1500

Silverado 1500 gets you into full-size pickup truck territory. The base engine is a V-6 with 285 horsepower, but you can bump up the power with a 310-horsepower turbo four-cylinder gas engine or opt for the V-8 with 420 horsepower. A six-cylinder turbodiesel is also optional and puts out 277 horsepower. Silverado 1500s with the 6.2-liter V-8, and the tow package can pull up to 13,300 pounds.

There is a Silverado model for any situation. The base Work Truck has all the basics and offers the regular cab. From there, you can bump up to the Custom with power accessories and the EZ Lift power lock and release tailgate, or to the LT with heated front seats. The Trail Boss adds off-road extras, and the LTZ and High Country have more luxury features in the cabin. 

The Silverado HD

When you need more towing power, the Silverado HD delivers. This Chevy truck starts with a 6.6-liter gas V-8 that puts out 401 horsepower, and the power goes up from there. An optional 6.6-liter diesel V-8 generates 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque and works with a new Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. 

Just like the regular Silverado, the HD version comes in a wide selection of trims, offering everything from a work truck with the basics to a luxury hauler with extra convenience and comfort features. The higher trims offer heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and leather upholstery. Tech features offered include an 8-inch touch screen, satellite radio, wireless charging, voice commands, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This Silverado also has trailer-assist features to help make towing safer and easier, including a transparent camera mode.
